Dart Transit Company, Eagan, Minn., held the first of its 2008 Contractor/Driver Appreciation celebrations June 21.
Each year Dart holds appreciation events at several locations nationwide for Dart contractors, Dartco Inc. fleet drivers, and their families and friends.
The day's activities included the Advantage Open Golf Tournament, the Pre-Trip Puzzler, the Buff'n'Shine truck contest, the annual contractors versus employees Tug'o'War contest, a picnic, prize drawings, fun for the kids, and an awards ceremony.
Three of the awards marked safety milestones. Walt Newcomb received the National Safety Council's Five Million Mile Safety Award, Harvey Zander received its Four Million Mile Safety Award, and John Robbins was awarded Dart's 20-year truck trophy for 20 years of safe driving with Dart.
Dart will hold Contractor/Driver appreciation events at four other locations this year.
