Brenntag North America, a chemical distribution company, recently held a three-week diesel exhaust fluid sales certification program for 10 participants.
With upcoming 2010 EPA standards, selective catalytic reduction is one of the technologies engine producers have chosen to meet the standards. This technology requires DEF, which must come with a distribution infrastructure to support it. Brenntag has been working on distributing DEF throughout the world.
The certification program focused on solutions for customers requiring DEF in 2010 and beyond, including equipment solutions and logistics. The course also included a visit to the Mack Truck Lehigh Valley manufacturing plant, in Macungie, Pa.
Brenntag is investing in a dedicated DEF sales and marketing team that will promote the TerraCair brand of DEF. The company now has certified DEF area sales representatives across North America.
