Bobit Business Media announced that Dave Moniz is the new publisher of Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT). Moniz, most recently the publisher of Fleet Equipment and Tire Review magazines, started his career with HDT and has also worked on Fleet Owner.
Moniz replaces interim publisher Sherb Brown and will report to him, as HDT is under Bobit’s Fleet Group umbrella. The Fleet Group consists of 11 titles covering fleet management.
“I’m a baseball fan, so that puts me in the mind to say that Dave is a five-tool player," says Bobit Business Media CEO Ty Bobit. "He is a publisher in the classic sense. He’s spent most of his career in B-to-B, and he also really gets the digital side of things. On top of it, he’s an expert in two of our key industries: trucking and tires." (BBM also publishes Modern Tire Dealer for independent tire dealers.)
Moniz is equally upbeat about the move to Bobit: “I’ve had the pleasure to meet with Sherb, Ty Bobit, not to mention my former competitor at Modern Tire Dealer, Greg Smith, and all my dealings with Bobit have reinforced for me that this is the right move for me at the right time. I’m really looking forward to getting out in the trucking field again and reacquainting with old friends.”
Moniz’s office is in Uniontown, Ohio, where the MTD offices are also located. He can be reached at (330) 899-2200, ext. 21 or david.moniz@bobit.com.
Bobit Business Media produces 22 B-to-B magazines, 32 websites and 14 industry trade shows and conferences. It has several brands in the vehicle fleet market covering car and light truck fleets, transit bus and motorcoach fleets, and school bus fleets. They include Automotive Fleet, Government Fleet, Work Truck, Auto Rental News, Green Fleet, Business Fleet, Metro Magazine, and School Bus Fleet.
