Veyance Technologies Inc., manufacturer of Goodyear Engineered Products, introduces the TurboBoss line of turbocharger hoses, designed as an economical alternative to other turbocharger components without sacrificing the power and reliability demanded by heavy-duty applications.
In response to industry and regulatory demands, heavy-duty engine designers often turn to intercooled turbocharger systems to reduce engine size and weight while increasing horsepower capacity. Although most turbocharger hose assemblies are made of silicone couplings and metal piping, TurboBoss uses Veyance's advanced rubber technology.
"OEMs often needlessly overpay because they buy turbocharger hose designed to handle temperatures far higher than what many applications are exposed to," says Tim Montbach, Veyance marketing manager for heavy-duty OE products. "With TurboBoss, they now have the choice of a variety of hoses using advanced rubber compounds, each designed for a specific temperature range - both hot and cold - for turbocharger air cooling systems."
Using a layered construction with multiple rubber compounds, TurboBoss is a single, custom-molded hose that can meet the demands of a turbocharger system. The lightweight TurboBoss hose is easier to install and seal than silicone hoses and can be customized to fit nearly any molded configuration.
