TMW DriverManagement is a new web-based program that automates much of the driver recruitment and hiring process and integrates with TMW's enterprise transportation systems and document management.


The system allows a driver to fill out an application online that goes straight into the DriverManagement workflow. The system, which is customizable for each fleet's processes, prompts the recruiter at each step through the recruiting, validation, hiring and onboarding process. A click of the mouse will retrieve data such as HireRight (DAC) records and DMV records. Electronic signatures and document storage can make the entire process paperless.

When the driver is hired, it automatically creates the human resources file needed in the enterprise software, making long term HR management easier with new hire documents, 401K forms, performance reviews, etc., all in the same place.

The new product combines TMW's standard web framework to interface with potential applicants, with the document management and workflow capabilities in TMW-Synergize. There's also recruiting performance reports and analytics, a recruiting team dashboard, team KPIs and internal communications system.

Big G Express of Shelbyville, Tenn., is in the process of incorporating the system for its 400-truck fleet. "our recruiting serpvisor, she is so excited about this produc,t, it brings everything together," said Deanna Phelps, vice president of human resources and safety, during a session on the new software during TMW's annual user conference this week. "We envision when the drier walks in to orientation, he signs all his documents electronically, and we never touch a piece of paper."

Phelps anticipates the company will be able to cancel plans to add another person in the HR department to process applications.
