Teletrac Inc., a GPS fleet tracking and telematics software provider, announced the enhancement of its Trailer and Asset Tracking product.


The offering provides complete trailer and asset visibility, helping to enhance fleet security and position reporting. The self-powered unit incorporates built-in GPS and cellular data, helping to provide optimal anti-theft security assurance. The tracking product was specifically designed to locate, manage and recover company equipment and strengthen operational efficiency.

The unit provides location updates every 15 minutes. When a tractor is un-hooked, the unit continues reporting its position without the need for external power for 24 hours. In addition, users can set up geo-fence alerts that provide notification when a trailer unit has arrived at a customer site. Users can further monitor their assets with timely asset location reports that provide a detailed overview of company property.

Users can stay up-to-date with their assets by easily tracking location movements outside of normal operating hours and zones with email and SMS alerts.

The Trailer and Asset Tracking product is the newest addition to Teletrac's Fleet Director intelligence platform, which utilizes tracking data to help reduce company costs and promote safety, compliance and productivity.
