Visitors to the Towman Expo show in November will be among the first to view a pair of new heavy-haul trailers from Talbert Manufacturing. Talbert will show its multi-purpose 55-Ton Telescopic Trailer; as well as its highly flexible Talbert SSTA (Traveling Axle) 5053 Trailer.
Talbert 55-Ton Telescopic Trailer
The multi-purpose Talbert 55-Ton Hydraulic Detach Telescopic Trailer delivers superior adaptability to a variety of loads with a telescopic deck that extends from 30 to 50 feet. Its 22- to 24-in. deck height is suitable for large self-supporting loads such as steel tanks, large generators, and more.
Its versatile spread axle capabilities allow a 2 + 2; or a 3 + 1 configuration; and its tandem axle features connections for a third axle that can be flipped or removed. The unit is also equipped with connections for a future fourth axle.
Additionally, this Talbert Telescopic Trailer is engineered with a pinned and hinged gooseneck extension that can be flipped. The ability to flip or remove the third axle, and the capability of flipping the gooseneck extension delivers key advantages during empty travel by allowing haulers to retract to an overall trailer length that is less than 53 feet.
Among standard features of the Talbert 55-Ton Telescopic Trailer are air-ride suspension, Dura-Bright aluminum outer wheels, strobe lights at the rear of each axle, and a battery back-up that powers the lighting package when the trailer is disconnected from the tractor.
Talbert SSTA 5053 Trailer
Ideal for the heavy-duty towing and recovery industry, the SSTA 5053 is loaded with standard features while delivering cost-effective versatility in a variety of applications. With a 50-ton capacity, a 41-foot-6-inch lower deck, and 53-feet overall length, the SSTA 5053 Traveling Axle Trailer features a 6-degree loading angle and a 14-degree dumping angle making it suitable as a general purpose trailer, or for the easy loading and off-loading of non-operating equipment - particularly pieces with lower ground clearance.
The SSTA 5053 uses a T-1 & 80K Steel beam framework, 4-inch I-beam cross members on 9-inch centers, and 1.5-inch apitong flooring. Among many other standard features, the SSTA 5053 includes air-ride suspension, a two-speed landing gear, hub-piloted steel disc wheels, and both side and center tie-down slots for greater loading ease and application flexibility.
Talbert will be exhibiting these trailers at the American Towman Expo 2011, to be held in Baltimore, MD Nov. 17-20.
