A new limited warranty for heavy duty diesels using Shell Rotella motor oil covers 10 parts for for up to 10 years or 500,000 miles,
the company announced. The warranty comes free with the purchase of Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic, Rotella T5 synthetic blend or Rotella Triple Protection heavy duty engine oils.
Do-it-yourself and installed customer oil changes qualify for the warranty, said Chris Guerrero, global brand manager for Shell Rotella.
As with any warranty, Shell's comes with stipulations. It covers Class 2c through Class 8 vehicles with heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road applications with a gross vehicular weight of 80,000 pounds or less. The vehicle to be covered may be owned or leased, and have been driven 50,000 miles or less when the owner first used an eligible Shell Rotella engine oil.
The manufactured date of the vehicle must also be within the last 24 months of the first use of an eligible Shell Rotella engine oil. Other conditions apply.
The Shell Rotella Lubrication Limited Warranty program works as follows for eligible Shell Rotella engine oils:
Up to 10 years or 500,000 miles (whichever is first) - With exclusive use of Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic engine oil.
Up to 10 years or 300,000 miles (whichever is first) - With exclusive use of Shell Rotella T Triple Protection 15W-40 or Shell Rotella T5 synthetic blend 10W-30, 10W-40 engine oils.
The Shell Rotella Lubrication Limited Warranty takes effect six months after the first purchase of eligible Shell Rotella engine oil and stays in effect as long as the terms and conditions of the program are followed. Complete terms and conditions and enrollment are available at www.rotella.com.
"Shell Rotella engine oils provide protection to critical engine parts to help maintain and potentially extend engine life," Guerrero said.
