Principles of Vibration Analysis with Applications in Automotive Engineering, is a complete guide to the science of automotive vibration theory and analysis, published by SAE International.
The 390-page book goes on sale in January 2011 in hardcover print and e-book versions. The latter offering includes either complete e-book or individual e-chapter downloads, available in a suite of formats that are also saved in a personalized e-library hosted by SAE International.

The 12-chapter book goes beyond other texts on the subject since it integrates the advances of modern modal analysis, experimental testing, and numerical analysis with fundamental theory. No other book brings all these topics together, compares them, and then provides experience with practical application to vehicle engineering by offering problems and examples. The book summarizes basic vibration theory and established methods for analyzing vibrations. It then illustrates these concepts and procedures using worked-out examples.

Principles of Vibration Analysis with Applications in Automotive Engineering should be of most interest to practicing engineers and designers who are concerned with the dynamic effects of machinery. The second-largest group of target readers is university students who could use the book as a text and reference. Problems included in each chapter help this audience understand the concepts and develop problem-solving skills.
