Rand McNally has released the newest version of its Motor Carriers' Road Atlas, with updated maps and content.

The new edition includes completely revised state and province maps, including updated mileages, additional suburb, town and small city names, and better urban area representation. Updated highways show the latest truck roadways as designated by the Surface Transportation Assistance Act (STAA), or "designated highways."

The atlas features new city maps, including insets of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Iowa City, Iowa; Paducah, Ky.; Parkersburg, W.Va.; and a downtown map of Indianapolis.

Rand McNally has redesigned the maps to more accurately display the curvature of the roads, with improved readability of the designated system.

Updated charts include more than 800 changes to the truck-specific state contact information, such as operating authority contacts, emergency police, and vehicle registration.

The Motor Carriers' Road Atlas features roads and information to assist in over-the-road trucking operations, such as detailed coverage of the state-designated truck routes and STAA-designated routes; updated coverage of Hazardous Materials regulations; a 22-page mileage directory with more than 40,000 truck-route-specific, city-to-city mileages; and charts of state and provincial permit agency phone numbers and websites, low clearances, and weigh stations, hotlines for road construction and conditions.
