Racor's New Bypass Oil Filtration System
The Racor division of Parker Hannifin has unveiled a new line of bypass oil filters, designed to remove up to 99 percent of all solid contaminates and lengthen the life of engine components

Racor's new bypass oil filter system removes participles, absorbs water and eliminates resins and oxidation products.
The Racor division of Parker Hannifin has unveiled a new line of bypass oil filters, designed to remove up to 99 percent of all solid contaminates and lengthen the life of engine components.
The filter works by forcing the oil to flow through 114 millimeters of filtration media, passing through three stages of different densities. The larger particles are retained at the top of the filter, while smaller particles are trapped in the first stage. The smallest particles are trapped in the lower compressed part of the filter, Racor says.
In addition, the filter's cellulose material absorbs up to 200 milliliters of water in the filter. The bypass filter also has the ability to remove resins and oxidation products.
Made from cellulose material wound onto a central core, the Racor Absolute Filter combines micro and depth filtration by using the axial filtration principle. A card sleeve compresses the lower part to increase the density, while a non-woven cloth protects the base and stops particle and media migration.
