Qualcomm and FleetRisk Advisors have introduced the new CSA 2010 Safety Performance Service powered by FleetRisk Advisors' The Driving Center
. The new service combines information from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's CSA 2010 Safety Measurement System database with vehicle-specific safety performance information from a variety of Qualcomm services.

The service provides fleets with comprehensive views of a fleet's compliance with CSA 2010 regulations; predictive tools to identify potential problem areas in future inspections; and proactive training/driver coaching modules to address identified issues.

"CSA 2010 Safety Performance Service gives fleets a new way to proactively manage compliance with these critical and complex regulations," said Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services.

The CSA 2010 Safety Performance Service will provide customers with a variety of compliance reporting options and the ability to provide proactive driver coaching scripts to driver or safety managers for use in contacting drivers directly to remediate noncompliant behavior. In addition, the service can rate performance data from Qualcomm's Hours of Service, Critical Event Reporting and Performance Monitoring services with FMCSA formulas to give driver managers a predictive view of where their drivers may encounter problems in the future.

The service can also help fleet managers review each driver's performance data in the context of their individual duty assignments, with optional views that enable fleet managers to normalize incident data according to miles traveled and trips completed.

Fleet managers can view data by comparing incidents across peer groups of fleets with similar numbers of power units and by a time-based weighted system.

"Scorecards look at what has already happened, and in the new CSA 2010 environment that is too late," said Sam Wilkes, CEO of FleetRisk Advisors. "Qualcomm's unique CSA 2010 Safety Performance Service aggregates data from multiple sources, not just the FMCSA, and turns raw data into focused and effective action plans. The base strategy is to eliminate incidents, violations and bad inspections before they show up on a fleet's CSA 2010 record."
