Minneapolis-based PeopleNet has partnered with ITS Compliance to offer an integrated solution. The new partnership will allow fleets to automate their fuel tax reporting.
"This partnership delivers a state of the art automated fuel/mileage and highway-use tax reporting solution, enabling U.S. fleets to cost-effectively meet vehicle/state IFTA and IRP regulatory compliance and recordkeeping requirements," said Jim Angel, PeopleNet safety and compliance product manager. The new partnership merges PeopleNet's GPS tracking and fuel purchase information with ITS' Paperless Fuel Tax Reporting System, and compliance and risk-management expertise to automatically and accurately compute all state fuel/mileage and highway-use taxes for PeopleNet customers. In addition, customers will be provided with fleet tax analysis reporting, tax return preparation/submittal, data retention, and IFTA/IRP audit management, representation and support by ITS for all joint clientele.
"Our partnership with PeopleNet provides clients the power to immediately reduce fleet costs, limit liability/exposure, capitalize on technology, and proactively comply with CSA 2010," said John Vosters, ITS' vice president of business development. "In addition to long-term accuracy, we're eliminating the need for paper-based source documents and all related administrative costs."
Additional data integration initiatives between PeopleNet and ITS are underway for Driver Qualification File (DQF) Maintenance and Vehicle Registration Asset Management (VRAM).
