JIM Mfg, Inc. has introduced the Vader I 5000 Series, a self-contained, mobile brush wash system that captures, reclaims and recycles water.

This patented brush washing system reclaims 99.9 percent of the water that normally would fall to the ground, the company says. This water is then reused for the next wash, and can reduce the water usage and washing expenses.

"We have an image out there," said Chris Smith, shop manager for the Minnesota office of Vitran Express. "We want to have a good looking image, and being on the road day in and day out, the trailers get a lot of road grime. On a scale from one to 10, the importance of image is a nine, just after safety. And you can't beat cleaning 50 or 60 trailers with those savings."

The unit uses a shielded brush action to remove the road film, soot and chemical deposits that collect on trucks. The mobile system comes with a wand with a reel-up hose so the owner can detail the rims, mud flaps and other hard to reach areas. There is little to no set-up and can easily wash one trailer or 50 in a single day.

"All the controls are easy to use," said Smith. "The operation is slick. It's got four wheel steering so you can turn on a dime. It's a dream to use."
