National Truck Protection, which provides used truck warranties, has launched an online inspection system it says is an industry first.


NTP will offer its customers the option of entering and submitting critical inspection data into its next generation inspection and warranty system. This system eliminates the use of paper and dramatically speeds up the warranty approval process.

"Given the importance of the inspection process, we set out to create a new, electronic capability that will enable our customers to enjoy the fastest, most technologically advanced process in the industry, bar none," said Robert S. Amico, president of NTP. "This new capability will change the way we do business and deliver significant benefits to our customers.

"Inspecting a vehicle and maintaining records of that inspection are critical components of any reputable and credible warranty program and when you can do it with accuracy and efficiency, everyone wins," Amico added. "Inspections enable the buyer, seller and warranty-writer to understand and document the actual condition of the vehicle before a transaction, so if that vehicle has a breakdown in the future, all parties can rely on the same tangible data that was known and agreed upon before the fact," he said.

This new Web-based inspection system interfaces to NTP's proprietary dealer portal, an automated pricing and vehicle status system that was previously released.

NTP's dealers will be able to interface their own systems directly into NTP's infrastructure and at the same time enjoy functionality with a totally integrated and personalized look and feel. NTP will provide its customers with free training and support as part of its warranty program and service offering.
