National Truck Protection, which offer used-truck warranties, has launched a new, enhanced breakdown assistance program.


NTP's VIP breakdown assistance program streamlines all customer touch-points. By providing NTP's live operators with minimal information, either the vehicle identification number (VIN) or their NTP contract number, the caller can be quickly directed and routed to an authorized repair facility.

"We developed some proprietary search algorithms that enable us to quickly identify a customer's contract files, search the contents, determine coverage levels, calculate the in-service interval remaining, and then based on that information, route them to the appropriate facility with speed and accuracy", said Robert S. Amico, president of National Truck Protection.

Frequently, the vehicle's driver is not aware of the powertrain components in their truck and when broken down, this can lead to long and frustrating diagnostic calls.

"So to solve this, in our new system a caller only needs to provide us with their VIN or contract number, and in lightning speed, we identify the engine, transmission and rear end components and based upon our extensive database, we quickly select an authorized repair center for their breakdown," Amico added.
