MTS Driver Recruiters, a provider of recruitment outsourcing to the transportation industry, has launched a new Temp-to-Hire program for fleet managers
. The new program allows fleet managers to recruit experienced drivers on MTS' payroll as needed; fleets can then transfer drivers of their choosing to their own payroll, at no additional cost.
"Our goal is to allow our clients to have the flexibility to ramp their fleet up or down, without incurring recruiting costs or hiring commitments, then bring those temporary drivers who are the right fit onto their own payroll as demand stabilizes," said Ken Walker, MTS Driver Recruiters principal. "Our Temp-to-Hire program is ideal for start-up operations, expansion projects, or when it's uncertain that the demand will be sustained. The depth of our resources is especially beneficial when a fleet needs to be staffed in a remote area."
MTS conducts a targeted search in accordance with the fleet's normal hiring criteria, using their proprietary advertising techniques and its own national database of over 340,000 commercial truck drivers. This allows MTS to quickly deliver experienced truck drivers who match the client's specifications.
MTS handles all advertising, background checks and DOT compliance. Fleet operators also have the option of sending their own walk-in applicants and respondents to MTS to be screened, processed, and employed by MTS for a temporary period.
"Depending on your policies and your requirements, you have the option to stick with temp drivers or convert some or all to permanent employees," Walker said.
