Ernest Dandridge Carrier Design Services Inc., McLean, Va., has partnered with Kentucky Trailer of Louisville, Ky., to offer self-contained, removable hydraulic auto transport systems for use in 102-inch-wide Kentucky drop frame/electronics van trailers.

This proprietary equipment, Removable Adjustable Decks/Auto Transport Modules, can be placed in many new or existing trailer vans to create an "instant" trailer load car hauler. There are several configurations for this battery powered equipment. (In early 2012 an equipment package was added for larger tire, higher floor electronics van trailers to compliment the packages for smaller tire, lower floor electronics van trailers.)

The equipment can be quickly and easily slid into a trailer and remain locked in place or just as quickly and easily be removed and floated around in a trucking fleet. The upper decks can be hydraulically moved down to the van floor or be raised and pivoted to any angle desired.

Additionally, the transport modules can be placed and locked at various positions in a trailer to compliment various hauling requirements. The modules are locked into the vertical logistics posts in the side walls of a trailer. The modules are mechanically simple for driver use as well as for future maintenance while also offering a unique level of hauling flexibility and adjustability. The equipment is lighter weight in consideration of trucker weight and fuel concerns. The equipment can also serve as an avenue for easier entry into the car transport marketplace.
