LOUISVILLE, KY -- Dometic is unveiling a new line of cameras and monitors for the trucking industry.

Marketed under the WAECO brand name, the PerfectView RVS camera systems provide a flexible and versatile tool for drivers, giving visibility into blind sectors around the vehicle.

The cameras, available in color or black and white, use infrared LED technology to enhance night vision, and have a wide-angle lens with large picture angle. They come with an adjustable anti-dazzle sunshield to reduce glare.

They are designed for the over-the-road environment, with impact and vibration protection, an automatic motor-operated shutter to protect the lens from dirt and damage, and a temperature-controlled heater to prevent condensation build-up inside the camera. The housing is anodized and powder coated to help protect it against the elements.

The high-resolution monitors with LED background illumination provide excellent picture quality even in low temperatures. They have automatic day and night brightness adjustment and ergonomic driver controls. They operate on 12-30V DC power.

The system also has built-in microphones allowing the driver to communicate with people outside the vehicle - for instance, when a spotter is giving backing assistance to the driver at a loading dock.

Multiple cameras and monitors can be installed. The driver can select which camera to view at any time.

"These advanced camera systems can provide an extra pair of eyes to the driver when reversing toward an unfamiliar ramp, or when pedestrians or cyclists disappear into the blind spot making a turn to the right," said Lou Siegel, spokesman for Dometic's U.S. trucking business unit. "The modular design provides a host of combinations and configurations."
