Cadec Global announced a new version of its PowerVue fleet management solution, PowerVue Enterprise. It's the company's first major product release since it was acquired by BlackBern Partners in August.
The flexible Web-based fleet management solution is being demonstrated at the National Private Truck Council Education Management Conference & Exhibition in Cincinnati.
In an interview at NPTC, CEO Jon Bernstein explained that the new system, which features a new, more intuitive graphic interface, does core features better and has added a couple of unique features.
PowerVue Enterprise has the ability to easily configure workflows - touchscreen forms on the on-board computer for data capture and presentation - tailored to meet specific operational requirements. In the past, Bernstein explained, it might take months for Cadec to write specific code to handle a fleet's unique needs. Today, customer service can easily "drag and drop" screens and other customization tasks in addition to the many customer-configurable settings.
Integration of real-time data provides enterprise-class forecasting of delivery times, improves asset utilization and accelerates cash flow. Here again, the system is easily customizable, so Cadec can add or change data fields to handle a fleet's specific needs.
The system makes it easier for data to be pushed to the fleet instead of the fleet having to search for the information. The open architecture makes it easy to integrate to a fleet's back office, integrate with third-party or a fleet's own custom programs, or to a point of delivery device.
"The idea is to open up the floodgates of creativity for integration for our customers," Bernstein said.
Other core feature enhancements to PowerVue include:
- Enhanced scorecard capabilities that allow organizations to graphically track and report on driver and vehicle performance. Known to current Cadec customers as the "GYR report" - for the green, yellow and red icons summarizing the performance of each driver - this performance monitoring tool allows companies to proactively identify driver behaviors that are potentially unsafe, fuel inefficient or that provide substandard customer satisfaction.
- Enhanced mapping and trip replay, leveraging Cadec's patented Electronic Tach-o-Graph (ETOG) tool, which offers a distinctive combination view of speed, RPM and vehicle trail on a single screen. ETOG allows fleet managers to take a virtual ride-along and drill down to view granular trip detail, including the ability to recreate accidents.
All PowerVue customers will receive the new core features as part of their current subscription plan. All PowerVue systems are compatible with the Enterprise edition feature set and all customers will have the opportunity to develop specific workflows and access the enhanced middleware. Cadec customers currently using the Mobius platform can have their custom workflows migrated to the more open and sustainable PowerVue platform.
