AT&T and TeleNav have developed TeleNav Track Lite, a tracking service to help fleets improve their field service, delivery or sales operations.
The new service provides real-time visibility of field employee locations to enhance dispatch operations and customer service, using cellular phones and other mobile devices. Drivers and resources can be tracked by pinpointing their current location on a map, even when inside buildings. The tracking function is always on and cannot be disabled on the device.
The TeleNav Track Lite can be used without GPS or software capabilities on the device because it functions as a Web-based mobile resource management service. The system works on the AT&T wireless network running on AT&T mobile devices, laptop cards and wireless equipped notebooks. The company will start shipping it out by the end of July.
"Whether it is through reducing the amount of time drivers are spending on the road or by tracking resources to increase accountability, these solutions can positively impact the bottom line and raise the level of service provided to customers," said Igor Glubochansky, director of industry solutions for AT&T Business Solutions.
"In tough economic times, companies are continually searching for tools to help them operate more efficiently and lower operational costs," said Ravi Acharya, associate director of B2B marketing at TeleNav. "TeleNav Track provides AT&T's business customers with powerful, yet affordable, solutions to better manage their mobile assets and operate with increased speed and efficiency."
