PrePass Safety Alliance recently announced that its PrePass MOTION app will now integrate with Geotab, giving motor carriers an additional option for weigh station bypass.
The PrePass MOTION app connects via a cellular connection for weigh station bypassing and in-vehicle driver safety alerts, including alerts for work zones, windy areas, steep grades, and roads that do not allow commercial vehicle traffic.
“With an open platform approach, Geotab is helping to enable current and future partners to access our robust and dynamic ecosystem around the globe,” said Scott Sutarik, vice president of commercial motor vehicles at Geotab.
As a bundled service, the PrePass MOTION bypass app includes the optional use of an RFID transponder to provide for electronic toll payment services. Customers also receive access to INFORM Safety software to help assess safety performance and improve safety scores.
“The integration of PrePass MOTION for Geotab customers provides seamless access to bypass and safety alerts through the Geotab Drive application,” said Mark Doughty, president and CEO of PrePass Safety Alliance.
Motor carriers using the affected ELDs must switch to paper logs immediately and install compliant devices by April 14 to avoid out-of-service violations.
