ConMet announced that John Waters has been named president, effective immediately. Waters succeeds Mike Swiderski, who has held the position since 2014, following his election to retire.

Waters has been with ConMet for 27 years in various leadership roles prior to his appointment, including interim president, senior vice president of sales and operations, and chief financial officer.

“Mr. Waters has an intimate knowledge of the company’s strategy, people, products, and customers. I am confident he will guide ConMet to new heights and lead exciting business development initiatives,” said Steve Smith, president and chief executive officer of Amsted Industries.

“I am excited and honored to take on this new role,” Mr. Waters said of the transition. “I look forward to working closely with colleagues and strategic partners to advance ConMet’s efforts in developing innovative solutions that support our customers and address the industry’s most critical needs.”
