The American Transportation Research Institute is looking to study how truck drivers are being affected by customer detention and is seeking driver feedback for an online data collection initiative.

Feedback from drivers will be used to better understand how excessive delays at shipper/receiver facilities impacts productivity, safety, and hours of service compliance. The survey is part of an ongoing study by ATRI on the impacts of detention on overall industry productivity and safety.

Data collected in this latest survey will be compared to previous surveys collected in 2014 to evaluate how detention may have been impacted by the electronic logging device mandate which went into full-effect earlier this year.

The survey is available online at TruckingResearch.org.
