Mack Trucks will continue to sponsor the Share the Road highway safety education program in 2014.

Volvo Trucks will continue its sole sponsorship of America’s Road Team in 2014. The Road Team travels the country with this Volvo VNL 780 and the American Trucking Associations’ Image Trailer, delivering messages about highway safety and the essential nature of America’s trucking industry.

ORLANDO-- Volvo Trucks will remain the sole sponsor in 2014 of the America’s Road Team. Gӧran Nyberg, president of Volvo Trucks North American Sales & Marketing, announced Volvo’s ongoing support at the American Trucking Associations Management Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Fla.

America’s Road Team is comprised of professional truck drivers, called Captains, with millions of accident-free miles behind the wheel. The Captains speak to lawmakers, government officials, students, regulators and other drivers to help raise awareness about highway safety and foster understanding about the crucial role that trucking plays in the economy.

America’s Road Team Captains travel the country in a VNL 780 tractor, which they use to transport the ATA Image Trailer, a mobile experience trailer used during presentations. The Volvo tractor is equipped with aVolvo I-Shift automated manual transmission, Volvo’s full electronic stability program and integrated advanced collision avoidance technology.

Mack Trucks will continue to sponsor the Share the Road highway safety education program in 2014.

Mack Trucks announced at ATA Management Conference & Exhibition that it would again sponsor the Share the Roadprogram in 2014, marking 12 years of continuous support.

Share the Road utilizes professional truck drivers with exemplary safety records to educate people about safe following distances, truck stopping distances, blind spots and other vital driving issues. Using a Mack Pinnacle Axle Back model sleeper as the central communications tool, the drivers spread these critical, life-saving messages to the public through demonstrations to the media, students, community leaders and motorists nationwide.

The Mack-provided 70-inch high-rise Pinnacle sleeper features a Mack mDrive automated manual transmission and 13-liter 505 horsepower Mack MP8 engine with Mack ClearTech SCR technology and 1,760 pounds-feet torque.
