According to August sales reported to NADA by dealers, auctions, and OEMs, sleeper tractor pricing has set a new record in the retail channel, and returned the best month of the year in the wholesale channel.

“2010 model-year sleepers are hitting the meaty part of their trade-in curve, and we expect to see more of these trucks become available to the retail market,” says ATD/NADA Senior Analyst Chris Visser. “This trend should positively impact our universal averages.”
Similarly, the 2009 model year is showing up in increased numbers in NADA’s wholesale database. “2009’s feature average mileage under 600K combined with reasonable pricing, which is a sweet spot for demand,” says Visser. “Newer model years should provide upward support for our wholesale averages going forward.”
