Dubbed the Pennsylvania Roadshow, the event focused on the state of infrastructure in Pennsylvania and the nation as well as the federal-state partnership in infrastructure. Shuster’s committee is responsible for oversight of and legislation authorizing the federal transportation and infrastructure programs.

Starting in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, the Congressmen worked their way east, making stops in Altoona and Harrisburg, before wrapping up today in Reading.

A point of emphasis for the committee this year is to put forward a bill to strengthen highways, bridges, transit infrastructure and highway safety programs.  The Roadshow and other similar events held outside of Washington D.C. are designed to help the committee explore infrastructure needs and gather prospective from states, local officials and business owners on how to keep America globally competitive.

Transportation leaders from other states joined Shuster’s roadshow to discuss efforts that are necessary or already taking place at the state level.

In addition to Shuster, the Pennsylvania Roadshow included Reps. Lou Barletta (PA-11), Scott Perry (PA-04), Ryan Costello (PA-06), Blake Farenthold (TX-27), and David Rouzer (NC-07).
