Schneider National Inc., the nation's largest truckload carrier, has introduced a Pay Certainty Program for its fleet of company drivers.

Effective immediately, the program locks in a weekly minimum pay for drivers if Schneider is unable to offer a guaranteed minimum number of miles, and as a result, the driver's earnings fall short of expected pay levels.
Schneider's Pay Certainty Program is based on a comparison of the number of miles offered to the driver and the resulting earnings, plus per diem reimbursements, against a four-week minimum pay level. Guaranteed pay ranges from $600 to $900 per week based on a driver's experience. Although Schneider drivers benefit from working with the largest freight base in the industry, the program provides a guaranteed amount if freight availability does not meet weekly expectations.
Todd Jadin, senior vice president of operations, said, “Though we offer our drivers the most miles in the industry, there are times when the market works against us. With this program, Schneider eases the financial burden for drivers and ensures their financial success."
In December 2005, Schneider implemented a pay package choice program for drivers. Earlier that year, Schneider introduced its largest compensation and work-life improvement package in its 70-year history.
