PS Logistics provides full-service transportation services, including asset-based transportation, non-asset-based transportation, brokerage, third-party logistics, managed transportation, warehousing, and supply chain services.

Buddy Moore Trucking was founded in 1999 by E.H. “Buddy” Moore Jr. Operating nearly 25 years as a family-owned business, Buddy Moore Trucking has grown to include a 130-truck flatbed division, a 20-truck dedicated van division, and a fast-growing non-asset logistics division.

Buck Moore: PSL 'Great Partner'

“I have personally known the Moore family for decades and have tremendous respect for them and the company they’ve built over the last 24 years,” said Scott Smith, chief executive officer and co-founder of PS Logistics, in a news release.

“BMT will complement PSL’s ‘asset-right’ operating model with expanded flatbed and dedicated dry van capacity, diversified geography, and new end markets,” Smith said.

One of the things the Buddy Moore Trucking acquisition brings to PS Logistics is expanded flatbed capacity.

“PS Logistics will be a great partner for our business,” said Buck Moore, president and CEO of Buddy Moore Trucking. “Over the years, I’ve witnessed how well they execute acquisitions and deliver value to their customers, drivers, and employees, and I look forward to what we will achieve together now that Buddy Moore Trucking has access to a larger freight network, additional capital, and wider array of customer solutions.”

Both Smith and Moore also emphasized the compabitility of the two companies’ cultures. When “Buddy” Moore Jr. founded the company, it was with two primary goals: to provide outstanding customer service and to provide a great place to work for its drivers and employees, according to the company.

Smith said, “Buddy Moore Trucking’s emphasis on providing outstanding customer service and a great place to work for its employees and drivers perfectly aligns with PS Logistics’ mantra to ‘deliver great’ while simultaneously maintaining a driver-first culture.”

Since 2016, PS Logistics has successfully acquired 25 trucking operations and five non-asset logistics operations across the United States.

This is the latest acquisition that expands PS Logistics' flatbed operations. In 2022, PS Logistics subsidiary DMT Trucking acquired flatbed carriers Noble LLC, Noble Trucking LLC, and Noble Logistics LLC (collectively “Noble”), and P&S Transportation, a PS Logistics subsidiary, purchased Clay’s Transport Inc. and Clays Logistics LLC, which specialized in flatbed shipping in the Southeast.
