ArvinMeritor Inc. has announced that production has begun on schedule at its new Suspensys joint venture with Randon Participacoes, of Brazil.

The new facility is manufacturing truck suspensions, trailer axles and suspensions, and related wheel-end equipment initially for the South American heavy-duty vehicle market. The components are manufactured by Suspensys at a new, 174,000-square-foot facility in Caxias do Sul, Brazil.
The components from the venture are being used by original equipment manufacturers in South America, and exports will commence in the next 30 days to Europe and North America.
Randon, a conglomerate of companies specializing in numerous South American markets, holds core competencies in the manufacturing of trailer equipment and specialty vehicles, as well as automotive systems and components.
