Toll rates are increasing at six different bi-state crossings between New York and New Jersey. The Rate hikes will affect drivers of both private and commercial transportation.

The rate increases are taking effect on Dec. 7, 2014 with an additional increase on Dec. 2, 2015. The increases are a part of a four-year plan to increase tolls that was approved in 2011 . Increases for trucks will range between $4 and $12 depending on the number of axles.

The six crossing points affecting by the toll hikes are the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, Goethals Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing and Bayonne Bridge.

Currently the peak EZ-Pass toll price for a typical five-axle truck is $70 but on Dec.7th, the toll will increase to $80 dollars. By next December the toll will be $90. For non E-Z pass users, cash prices for five-axle trucks are $15 more expensive across the board.
