Pilot Flying J Offers Winter Fuel Protection
Pilot Flying J has introduced a new diesel fuel treatment with an anti-gel formula and is now winter-blending its diesel fuel in cold weather areas.

Pilot Flying J has introduced a new diesel fuel treatment with an anti-gel formula and is now winter-blending its diesel fuel in cold weather areas.
Diesel Treatment with Anti-Gel treats up to 320 gallons and is recommended to prevent fuel gelling, injector fouling, and fuel pump wear for ongoing winter protection, the company said.
Pilot Flying J is also preparing to begin its winter blending initiative at the pump, the company said in a statement. Cold weather locations will begin treatment once the outside temperature reaches 15 degrees.
For Colorado, New York, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Michigan, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Wyoming, plus select cities in Indiana, Ohio, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania, Pilot Flying J will continue the following treatments until March 1, 2021, regardless of the outside air temperature:
15 to 5 degree outside temperatures: blending a single treatment of cold flow improvers
5 to minus 5 degree outside temperatures: double treatments of cold flow improvers
Below minus 5 degree outside temperatures: Fuel will be treated with double treatments of cold flow improver and 20% of No. 1 fuel. If No. 1 fuel is not available, triple treatment of cold flow improver will be used.
For Illinois and Iowa, double treatment rates will continue until March 1, 2021, regardless of the outside air temperature.
