OrderPro to Acquire Trucking Firm
OrderPro Logistics has signed a letter of intent to acquire a trucking company based in Indianapolis with local warehousing, consolidation and distribution operations
OrderPro Logistics has signed a letter of intent to acquire a trucking company based in Indianapolis with local warehousing, consolidation and distribution operations.
The target acquisition provides OrderPro Logistics entry into this strategic freight distribution market and blends smoothly with its Illinois-based operations. Indianapolis is considered a significant transportation center and is a natural crossroads for freight activity nationwide.
When combined with the company's other Midwest-based operations -- TransMex and EMC Trucking -- the acquisition strengthens its presence, customer base and customer service abilities.
The target acquisition is currently generating annual revenues in excess of $2 million, and has a track record of growth and profitability dating back to 1999.
According to Jeffrey Smuda, vice president of logistics operations, "OrderPro Logistics will provide the essential financial, marketing and systems elements required to assure the accelerated growth of this operation. We are particularly pleased that the founder of this company will remain with us. He will participate as a key employee with a base compensation plan and incentives structured to enable himself and the company to benefit from future growth."
CEO Richard Windorski said, "OrderPro's strategic plan has a revenue goal in the $40- to $50-million revenue range to be achieved over the next 24-36 months. We are pleased that the owners of companies such as this Indianapolis operation recognize the potential benefits available to them as they become important members of the OrderPro Logistics' family of companies."
