Oil Purification Systems (OPS), which developed and manufactures the OPS-1 on-board oil refining system, has announced a distribution agreement with Larson Cos., headquartered in Bloomington, Minn.
Under the agreement, Larson will provide sales, installation and customer support services at its 17 locations spanning the Upper Midwest.
"[Larson Cos.] is one of the largest and most respected Peterbilt distributors in the country, and this agreement provides further evidence that the OPS-1 technology is changing the way companies think about extending oil drain intervals," said Mitch Weseley, OPS president and CEO. "This partnership also offers tremendous benefits to our owner-operators and small fleet customers, who can leverage 17 new locations in seven states to buy and/or install the OPS-1 system."
John Meuwissen, director of parts for Larson Cos., said, "OPS has been on our radar for some time now, and we were impressed by the quality of the product, professional organization, and most importantly, the value the OPS-1 technology will bring to our customers. With such a compelling return on investment and the 'green return' of reducing waste oil, we believe this product will be standard equipment in the near future. "
OPS-1 on board oil refining system removes the solid and liquid contaminants from engine oil, virtually eliminating the need for routine oil changes. Hundreds of fleets on thousands of vehicles and generators in trucking, busing, construction, mining and many other applications use the OPS-1.
OPS-1 users have dramatically reduced oil consumption, cut oil maintenance costs by 80 percent, and extended equipment life, according to the company. Most OPS clients pay for their investments within six months. Founded in 2002, OPS is headquartered in Shelton, Conn., and has production facilities in Waterbury, Conn.
