German truck maker MAN AG plants to cut more than 5 percent of its work force in the second such move this year.
The Associated Press reported that MAN will cut 1,900 jobs at its commercial vehicles unit over the next year. The announcement followed an earlier round of job-cutting measures in March, when the Munich-based company announced that it was cutting 1,800 temporary positions.
Like U.S. truck makers in the same boat, MAN said it had been growing its commercial truck workforce over the past three years, but a weak market this year has meant cuts in production.
