A new study by the American Transportation Research Institute found that over the past decade medium-duty trucks have a worse crash record than heavy-duties.
NTSB, an independent agency that can make recommendations but does not write rules, recommended that the government should consider making medium-duty straight truck drivers get a commercial driver's license, following a five-year study that found these trucks were involved in a disproportionate number of fatalities.
In light of this research, Dan Murray, VP Research, ATRI, is joining the Medium-Duty Truck Safety panel discussion on Thursday, June 27, from 10:15-11:15 a.m.
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Jim Voorhees, CEO, Instructional Technologies.
