FedEx Custom Critical CEO to Retire
Current president and chief executive officer of FedEx Custom Critical, Virginia Addicott, has announced her retirement. She was responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction and commitment to delivering value and flawless execution to its customers.

Current president and chief executive officer of FedEx Custom Critical, Virginia Addicott, has announced her retirement. She was responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction and commitment to delivering value and flawless execution to its customers.
Under Addicott’s leadership, the company has grown through diversification of service offerings, globalization, automation, and efficiency via technology and by building an engaged workforce, according to Fedex. She is leaving after 33 years with the company and 12 and a half years as CEO.

Throughout her leadership career, Addicott has emphasis on the importance of culture has paid off with FedEx Custom Critical being recognized as one of Northeast Ohio’s best workplaces, receiving the NorthCoast 99 award 18 times. She was inducted into the Northeast Ohio Business Hall of Fame and received the 2019 Moves Power Women Award.
FedEx has named Ramona Hood, a 28-year company veteran, as the next president and CEO of the Green-based FedEx Custom Critical. Hood started her career at FedEx Custom Critical in 1991 in an entry-level position and went on to hold various executive leadership positions at both FedEx Custom Critical and FedEx Supply Chain. Her career path included stints in operations, safety, sourcing, sales, and marketing.
Addicott has also been involved in a number of philanthropic organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors for FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), which encourages young people to get involved in programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills. She is also a member of the Kent State University Board of Trustees, after being appointed to the position in 2013 by Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
