Dupre Drivers Are Happier With Electronic Logs
Since implementing electronic log systems in each of its trucks, Dupre Logistics has seen benefits over using manual paper logs, including simplicity of use and happier drivers

Dupre started testing the electronic log system in 2006.
According to the company, in the two years it has used the electronic system, its drivers have been able to focus more on their driving, rather than worrying about the complications and wasted time that comes with having to keep a paper log.
"The system is really user-friendly," said Calvin Bourque, a Dupre driver for 23 years. "It allows me to shift my focus from keeping an accurate log to being fully engaged driving and working with the client."
In January 2006, Dupre started testing the system, and has been using it in the entire fleet since the summer of 2007.
"We saw an opportunity to improve the accuracy, efficiency and the safety of our drivers," said Al Lacombe, director of safety. "Drivers merely sign on and off of the in-truck computer. The GPS system and the computer in the truck take care of the complexities of logging.
"The data captured in the truck is automatically transmitted via satellite to the Dupre' central computer system where the data is audited for compliance with federal regulations and fed into a variety of management applications such as payroll, fuel tax reporting, activity-based costing systems and the Dupre' predictive analytics system for safety powered by FleetRisk Advisors."
