Diesel, gasoline prices climb
Prices for both diesel and gasoline saw a jump this week at the pump. Diesel prices rose this week at an average of 2.5 cents across the nation to rest at $3.93. According to the Energy Information Administration's weekly Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update, diesel prices nationally are an average of 7.7 cents above where they were last year at this time.

The largest price increases were seen in the Rocky Mountain region, where diesel increased by 5.8 cents to settle at $3.74 per gallon, which is still the lowest average price for diesel of any reported region in the U.S.
Diesel prices on both the East and West Coasts are back up over the $4-mark, with prices on the East Coast averaging $4.02 per gallon and $4.05 on the West.
Gasoline prices experienced a 4.2-cent hike in prices nationwide the price per gallon coming to rest at $3.36.
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline is 8.2 cents below where is was a year ago.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil for March delivery increased 56 cents to $96.44 per barrel. Concerns regarding unrest in the Middle East and potential supply interruptions were among the reasons sited for the price jump.
