Con-Way Southern Express (CSE), a regional less-than-truckload business-to-business freight carrier is expanding its freight handling capacity in the southwest Atlanta metropolitan area
with the construction of a new service center in Newnan, Ga.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Wednesday, April 2 at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Amaljack Way and Amaljack Boulevard in the Shenandoah Industrial Park.
The Ft. Worth, Texas-based commercial freight carrier will immediately develop the 10-acre property with construction scheduled for completion in September. The 40-door 22,000 square-foot facility will include 17,000 square feet of dock and fueling area and a 5,000-square-foot office. Daily freight handling capacity will be three million pounds. Initial employment will be 34 people.
In 2000 the company built a 100-door facility in nearby Gwinnett County on 54 acres that replaced a smaller service center in Norcross. The company currently has 10 facilities in Georgia and 117 throughout 12 states in the Southeast, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
