Truckload carrier CFI has unveiled five custom large-format truck wraps recognizing the company’s military veteran and women drivers for their service to CFI and its customers.
The wraps will also serve as a tool to potentially encourage more veterans and women to consider a career in truck driving, according to CFI. Five company tractor trailer units are outfitted with truck wraps, four of which are themed with new True to the Troops, commemorative graphics, joining two existing trucks with similar details. The fleet is also displaying a new She Drives CFI truck wrap to honor four of the company’s longest-tenured women drivers: Stephanie Klang, Joplin, Mo.; Alisha Slaughter, El Paso, Texas; Tanya Lateyice, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Jemcia Turner, Tulsa, Okla.
Women make up 14% of CFI’s 2,000-driver workforce and military veterans make up 16%, according to CFI.
“We want to encourage more women to enter the profession. By recognizing these pioneers, their perseverance and their trail-blazing leadership, we’re honoring the past, present and future,” said Greg Orr, president of CFI. “These professionals are real-life examples of successful women who are making a difference and proving every day through their exceptional service they are as capable as anyone in our industry.”
Four of CFI’s military service-veteran drivers were selected to drive the True to the Troops trucks: Tom Christian, Austin, Texas; Michael Slack, Lebanon, Mo; Scott Bell, Boroda, Mich; and Josh Armstrong, Leland, N.C.
“The qualities of integrity, commitment, teamwork and a strong work ethic ingrained through their military service are the same we value highly in our employees,” said Orr. “Our goal is to provide excellent career opportunities and a supportive, inclusive work environment that helps veterans achieve a smooth transition from the military to a quality job in the civilian sector.”
