Bison Transport Expands U.S. Presence with Acquisition of Wisconsin Fleet
Candian carrier Bison Transport has acquired H.O. Wolding, a 320-truck, dry van fleet with truckload operations in the U.S. Midwest, Northeast and Southeast regions.

Canadian carrier Bison Transport has acquired Amherst, Wisconsin-based H.O. Wolding, a 320-truck, dry van fleet with truckload operations in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast regions.
The move was a strategic investment for Bison in the U.S. domestic transportation services market, according to Bison president and CEO Rob Penner. H.O. Wolding will work alongside Britton Transport, another of Bison’s U.S. subsidiaries to add scale and services to its U.S. customers.
“Our goal as the new owner is to empower HOW leadership with access to our expertise, resources and cost models,” said Penner. “The people at HOW have built a great reputation for how they serve their customers and their team of professional drivers and we want to see that continue to thrive and grow.”
Marc Wolding will serve as president of the Bison-owned HOW. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
“We are very pleased to welcome the drivers, staff and partners of HOW to the Bison family,” said Don Streuber, Bison’s executive chairman. “From the first conversation we had with Don and Dick Wolding, I knew there was a lot our two organizations had in common surrounding drivers, customers, safety, and doing what is right.”
