The American Trucking Associations has promoted four to new positions, including a new senior vice president of legislative affairs and vice president of highway policy.

“Coming off a tremendously successful year, one that saw membership and revenue grow and significant policy victories in Washington, it seems only fitting to reward some of our key contributors,” said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves.

Effectively immediately, ATA promoted Chris Spear from vice president of legislative affairs to senior vice president of legislative affairs, Darrin Roth from director of highway operations to vice president of highway policy, Mike Doran from membership sales associate to regional vice president of allied membership, and Jack Brady from associate publisher, business operations at Transport Topics to vice president of business operations.

Spear, who joined ATA in 2013, will continue to lead ATA’s efforts on Capitol Hill. Prior to joining ATA, Spear worked for Honeywell, the U.S. Department of Labor and as a professional staffer in the U.S. Senate. In his time at ATA, Spear was instrumental in guiding the effort to secure risk-reducing changes to the hours-of-service rules and several other legislative wins, according to the association.

Roth has been with ATA since 1996 and has spent the much of the past two decades as ATA’s point person on highway issues, ranging from infrastructure finance and speed regulations to truck productivity and congestion.

Doran joined ATA in 2007 has worked in a number of sales and marketing positions within the federation. As regional vice president he will work to grow ATA’s memberships in the allied community, focusing on companies in the eastern United States.

Brady, who has been with Transport Topics since 2013 as associate publisher, will now oversee all of TT’s business operations including art and production, circulation, marketing and website development.
