The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association, the commercial vehicle division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association, has announced the formation of its newest council, the Heavy Duty Advanced Technology Council.

The HDATC is comprised of top technology executives from HDMA member companies and will provide a forum for members to discuss advanced technology trends and issues impacting on- and off-highway heavy duty commercial vehicles. This includes topics such as advanced driver-assistance systems, automation, connectivity, electrification and telematics.

The HDATC will meet twice a year. Meetings will be geared towards expanding knowledge on current and future technologies, forecasting advanced technologies and keeping pace with the newest industry developments. By attending meetings, members will meet with OEM and technology experts, network with likeminded peers, gain market insights and technology forecasts, discuss regulatory and legislative issues, work to overcome operational challenges and benchmark their company’s advanced technology status with others. 

The HDATC will hold its first meeting this September in Southfield, Michigan.

Current participating member companies include Arconic, Bendix, Bergstrom, Commercial Vehicle Group, Fleet Complete, Link Manufacturing, Mahle, Parker Hannifin, Phillips & Temro Industries, Phillips Industries, Shaw Development, Truck-Lite, Velvac, ZF Group and others.
