Deflecktor introduced a locking wheel cover feature and trailer mounting system for its Hardspot Aerodynamic Wheel Cover at the American Trucking Associations' Management Conference and Exhibition in Austin, Texas.
The Hardspot aerodynamic Wheel Cover by Deflecktor was introduced last fall for road tractors. Since then the cover has been deployed on all new Schneider and NFI trucks, the company says, adding that its covers have also recently been seen on the Tesla Semi where the aerodynamic benefits can be measured precisely.
“Fear of theft has been a buying roadblock for potential customers," said President and Founder Jonathan Fleck. "A locking cover offers peace of mind for those whose truck and trailer assets go unattended for extended periods of time. The keyed mechanism is simple and precise with an intuitive, positive feedback loop that confirms its security upon locking."
The trailer mounting system comes pre-assembled for a fast initial installation. Like the tractor mounting system, it uses the identical Hardspot Cover, that offers instant, easy access. Wheel covers are known to save fuel, says Deflecktor – 1% on trucks and another 1% on trailers.
