Got Questions? ELDs and Telematics

Q. When it comes to editing their RODS with their ELDs, can drivers use the back office support systems after they leave their vehicles or do they have to make the change while they’re in the cab?

A. Yes, drivers may edit their RODS using the ELD’s back office support systems. Keep in mind that, while edits are allowed to fully, correctly, and accurately document a driver’s duty status, the record must also include the original entry, as well as the date, time, and identity of the person who is entering corrections or edits.
