Got Questions? ELDs and Telematics

October 16, 2017

Q. If a driver can’t transfer ELD data electronically to an official at a roadside stop, will the driver be ruled out of compliance?

A. No the driver will not be ruled out of compliance in this situation. If the electronic means for transferring data is unavailable or fails, the driver can still be compliant if he or she shows the enforcement official either a printout or the actual ELD display of the driver’s record of duty status (RODS).
