Got Questions? ELDs and Telematics

June 09, 2017

Q. Can this device be installed on older trucks, specifically 1991 & 1999 Freightliners?

A. Installation varies by make, model, and year. The 1991 would require a 3 wire install as it utilizes a mechanical engine. A 3 wire install is an installation where we plug the Geotab Go device into the vehicle via ignition, ground, and battery. The 1999 is borderline, it might need to be a 3 wire installation or via the 6-PIN diagnostic port underneath your driver side dash if available.
