Transtex announced a new aerodynamic cab extender fairing, the Edge Cabflex, engineered to replace OEM cab extenders.

At the American Trucking Associations Management Conference & Exhibition October 27, Todd McGuire, Transtex senior vice president of sales, explained that in listening to its customers, "In recent years, one challenge that has been consistently raised is cab extenders that failed to withstand real-world conditions.

"Fleet managers spoke of costly damage from jackknifing. Drivers shared frustration with limited turning angles, and maintenance teams reported hinge failures and frequent repairs."

Designed for same-point OEM replacement, the Edge Cabflex can be installed in 30 minutes by two trained technicians, according to Transtex, It mounts to the existing OEM attachment points for fast installation, McGuire said, adding, "It installs like an OEM part, yet performs like a next generation upgrade."

The company is in the process of rolling it out and expanding the number of truck models it's available for.

This is a retrofit or for new-truck buyers it would be done in a modification center.

Reinforced thermoplastic and stainless-steel materials provide long-lasting performance with customizable wrap options.
