Intermodal trucking and freight brokerage company Mark-It Express Logistics has acquired the operating assets of Sava Transportation, based in Maywood, Illinois.
This is the second transaction announced by Mark-It in 2020, previously acquiring Spirit Trucking this past January. This latest acquisition will add 20 trucks to Mark-It’s fleet, which has grown to nearly 200 trucks.
“The acquisition allows us to offer more flexible and robust solutions to our customers,” said Tony Apa, president and founder of Mark-It. “It also brings us continued diversification of our customer base, increased market share, and the potential for more growth.”
Sava’s current employees will transition to Mark-It’s terminals in Lemont and Chicago, Illinois.
Mark-It was founded in 2009 and offers third-party logistics and intermodal logistics solutions, including local and regional drayage and yard services, operating terminals in Lemont and Chicago, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan; and Kansas City, Kansas. Mark-It also provides multi-modal freight brokerage services.
